John `Dutch' Jordan, 83, maintenance foreman

John "Dutch" Jordan, a retired Bendix Radio maintenance foreman, died July 4 of lung failure at his home in Glen Burnie. He was 83.

Born and raised near Lansdowne, Mr. Jordan attended school through the 10th grade before beginning a 43-year career with Bendix, first at Fort Avenue and later at its Joppa Road facility. He retired in 1984 as a maintenance foreman.

Mr. Jordan enjoyed hunting, gardening, automobile racing and his family.

He was married in 1941 to the former Santina "Sandy" Caperna, who survives him.

Funeral services were Friday at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church in Linthicum.

Other survivors include a son, John Steven Jordan of Rising Sun; a daughter, Joyce Corcoran of Hampstead; two brothers, Frank Jordan of Baltimore and Edward Jordan of Pasadena; a sister, Julia Brietenbach of Baltimore; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
