Patricia Louden, 70, medical secretary

Patricia Louden, a retired medical secretary and an avid golfer and boater, died July 4 at Stella Maris Hospice of ovarian cancer, which was diagnosed six years ago. She was 70 and lived in Timonium.

Patricia Hyson was born and raised in Baltimore. She graduated from Southern High School and worked for Provident Savings Bank, where she met her husband, Norman J. Louden, who survives her after almost 50 years of marriage.

Mrs. Louden worked for 15 years as medical secretary for Dr. Gerald Glowacki, former head of obstetrics and gynecology at Franklin Square Hospital Center, and she was known for her compassion.

She belonged to the ladies golfing leagues at the Geneva Farm and Longview golf courses, and was skilled at powerboating on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband.

A Mass of Christian burial was offered Thursday at the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier in Hunt Valley.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael J. Louden of Lutherville, and three grandchildren.
