Indulge your inner space cadet Saturday at the Anne Arundel Community College Astronomy Club's Community Observing Night.

Bring your own telescope or binoculars or use one of AACC's eight telescopes to gaze at stars, planets and the moon.

Weather permitting, this family event will be held from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in parking lots A and B, near the AACC's Astronomy Lab, at 101 College Parkway, Arnold.

Admission is free.

Celebrate Native American culture at the 12th annual Howard County Pow-Wow / American Indian Show and Festival Saturday and Sunday at the Howard County Fairgrounds in Friendship.

Watch and interact with American Indian singers, dancers, drummers, artists and craftspeople from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Children can enjoy pony rides and face painting.

Items for sale include turquoise jewelry, beadwork, rugs and Native American food such as buffalo stew and corn soup. Members of Haliwa-Saponi, Piscataway, Cherokee and Navajo plan to participate. Admission is $4 for children ages 3 to 12, and $7 for 13 and up.

This is a rain-or-shine event. In case of rain, event will be held in the main exhibition hall of the fairgrounds. Call the Howard County Fairgrounds at 410-442-1022.
