Enjoy some Maryland classics Saturday at Celebrate Damascus, a community event featuring a marketplace and Car and Truck Cruise-In.

Stop by Damascus Chevy between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for prizes, oldies tunes, raffles and appearances by the Late Great Chevys of Maryland and the Damascus Community Alliance.

From 8 p.m. to midnight, catch oldies band Big Cam and the Lifters at a dance at the Mount Airy Fire Department. Admission to the daytime celebration is free, and dance admission is $10.

Ellicott City ghosts

Calling all ghostbusters! Learn the history of Ellicott City while discovering the region's paranormal activity.

Follow tour guides through old Ellicott City tomorrow and Saturday as they discuss resident ghosts and recount stories of paranormal activity.

Tours begin at 8:30 p.m. both nights.

Private tours are available anytime for groups of 15 or more. Not recommended for children under 6. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children and seniors.

To reserve a place on the tour, call 410-313-1900. Tours run Friday and Saturday nights from April to November. Participants should meet at the Visitor Information Center, 8267 Main St., side entrance of the Old Post Office in Ellicott City.

Music at Westminster

Celebrate roots music Saturday and Sunday at Common Ground on the Hill's American Music and Arts Festival in Westminster.

More than 80 American performers will play everything from blues to folk and gospel.

Arlo Guthrie, storyteller Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Tom Chapin and blues legend Etta Baker are scheduled to appear at the event at the Carroll County Farm Museum.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Once the festival ends on Saturday at 9, old-time dancing will begin next door at the Carroll County Agricultural Center.

Saturday-only passes cost $24. Sunday tickets are $18. Full weekend passes are $38. Tickets are $10 per day for children 13 to 18, $5 per day for those 6 to 12 and free for children under 5 with an adult. Camping at the Carroll County Agricultural Center costs $10 per person per night.

The Carroll County Farm Museum is at 500 S. Center St., Westminster. This is a rain or shine event. No pets allowed. For more information, call 410-857-2771.
