Man suspected of shooting himself, wounding another dies at hospital

A Pasadena man involved in what police called an attempted murder-suicide died Friday at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Darien Lateef Hudson, 25, was pronounced dead by doctors two days after he was admitted to Shock Trauma for what Anne Arundel County police said was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Authorities said Hudson had fled the scene of a shooting just outside Freetown Village.

Police said the shooting was prompted by arguments over a stolen bicycle. Lt. Joseph Jordan, a police spokesman, said Joseph Francis Queen, 27, of Pasadena was shot in a residential neighborhood near Freetown Elementary School by a man who fled. Queen, who suffered a serious wound to his upper body, remained hospitalized yesterday at Shock Trauma.
