On June 30, 2004, MARGARET BRADLEY SMITH, a resident of Tampa for over 30 years, died peacefully at her home on June 30, 2004. She was pre ceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years Raymond Paul Smith, Jr.; her parents George Thomas and Mary O'Conner Bradley of Baltimore; and her grandson David Bradley Hotze of Houston. Along with her husband, she was Co-founder of Smith Fence Company. Margaret was an extraordinary mother; very loving and caring as she raised her large family. She is survived by her seven children, sons Raymond P. Smith III and wife Jeri of Tierra Verde; George Thomas Smith of Clearwater; daughters Peggy Smith of Houston; Janie Hotze and husband Steven of Houston; Debbbie Hibberts and husband Van of Gulf Breeze, FL; Nancy Hankin and husband Bob of Tampa; Melissa Wetzel and husband Paul of Upper Montclair, NJ., and her sister Edna Beckstrom of Baltimore. The proud grandmother of 24 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, Margaret is survived by the following grandchildren who loved her dearly: Mary Beth, Catherine, Sarah, Paul, David, Patrick, Deborah, Rebekah, Gage, Nicholas, Melissa, Molly, Gregory, Emily, David, Bradley, Tommy, Matthew, William, Kristin, Adam, Matthew, Jessica and Gretchen. Her great grandchildren include Janie, Emily, Thomas, Benjamin, Bradley and Cate. The joy and light of Margaret's life were her faith, family and friends. She was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church, actively serving in the church Guild. One of her greatest honors was to humbly serve the Lord as a Eucharist Minister. She shall be sorely missed by many dear, steadfast friends. On Monday, July 5th, the family will receive friends at Blount & Curry Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary service at 6:30. On Tuesday, July 6th, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m to celebrate the special life God bestowed upon her.
