Dorothy L. Kerrigan, 78, homemaker

Dorothy L. Kerrigan, a homemaker and former Ocean Pines resident, died of a stroke Tuesday at University of Maryland Medical Center. She was 78.

Born Dorothy L. Wood in Baltimore, she was raised on Bayonne Avenue in the city's Hamilton section. She was a 1944 graduate of Forest Park High School.

She was married for 31 years to Bernard T. Kerrigan, a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad accountant who died in 1992. Her previous marriage to Claude Williams ended in divorce.

A resident of Fullerton since 1994, she enjoyed travel and reading novels. She was a former member of Arnolia United Methodist Church.

At her request, no funeral is planned.

Survivors include a son, Gary K. Williams of Churchville; a brother, Ray Wood of Hilton Head, S.C.; a stepbrother, Lee Fay of Mount Vernon, Va.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
