On June 29, 2004, at 11 A.M., GEORGE THOMAS CURTIS, 87, of Hanover, passed peacefully at Hanover Hall Nursing Home. He was the husband of Catherine R. (Strong) Curtis, his wife of 53 years. He was born November 9, 1916 in Ellicott City, MD a son of the late J. Frank and Ida Jane (Christian) Curtis. George was a life long farmer in Howard Co., MD and PA. He was a correctional officer at the Patuxent Institution in Jessup, MD. George was a member of Howard Lodge No. 101 A.F. & A.M. and Trinity Episcopal Church both in Elkridge, MD. In addition to his wife, George is survived by a daughter Susan D. and husband Jim Kennedy of Hanover, PA, a son Thomas G. and wife Deb Curtis of Littlestown, PA and two sisters; Margaret L. White of Hawaii and Ida Frances Fields of Taneytown, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother James Carl Curtis and sisters Annabelle Tittsworth and Margery Rosella Irby. A Memorial Service will be held in early August at a time and place to be announced later. Interment will be in Trinity Episcopal Cemetery at Pfeiffer's Corner, Waterloo Road, Ellicott City, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Memorial Fund at Trinity Episcopal Church, 7474 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075. The Wetzel Funeral Home, Inc., 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331 is in charge of arrangements.
