LEROY WALTER NELSON, Age 77, of Galemont Dr. Flagler Beach, FL., who passed away on Saturday, June 26 at Florida Hospital - Flagler. Leroy was born on September 4, 1926 in Baltimore, Maryland to George A. and Mable (Eckert) Nelson. He is a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran. He worked as a Destroyer Escort while in the Navy. Leroy was the past owner of the King Tile Company in Baltimore, where he is still the Chairman of the Board. He was a member of the Bahia Shrine of Daytona Beach, FL; member of the American Legion Dewey Lowman Branch in Arbutus, Maryland; Lifetime member of the DAV; and a member of the DESA. Leroy moved to Flagler Beach, FL in 1999 from Catonsville, MD. One of his favorite things to do was to tell jokes. Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Ann of Flagler Beach, FL. He is also survived by his two daughters, Sharon (David) Wells of Sykesville, MD and Ellen (Richard) Eckenrode of Westminster, MD and two grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 3 P.M. Tuesday, June 26, 2004 at the Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Flagler Beach, FL. His family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the time of the service in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Leroy to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 12502 N. Pine Dr., Tampa, FL 33612-9499 or to the Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, 1520 S. Daytona Ave., Flagler Beach, FL 32136. Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
