On June 15, 2004, VERNON JOSEPH BAILEY, devoted father of Vernetta Dixon, Elizabeth Hasan, Florence Hall, Vernon R., Vernon W., and Charles Bailey, and Rodney Spears; brother of Mary Bailey. Also survived by grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a devoted friend, Gloria Redmon. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home, 1721-27 North Monroe Street (Westwood Avenue), Sunday, 2 to 7 p.m. Family hour, 4 to 7 p.m. Family will receive friends Monday, 10 to 10:30 a.m., at which time a Funeral Mass will begin at St. Bernadine Catholic Church, Mt. Holly Street and Edmondson Avenue. Interment King Memorial Park.
