Dorothy Katherine Fitz, a homemaker, died of a heart attack Tuesday at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The Glen Burnie resident was 84.
Dorothy Katherine Hobbs was born in Baltimore and raised near Clifton Park. She was a 1938 graduate of Eastern High School and later attended a secretarial school.
In 1941 she married Samuel B. Fitz, who became an Army chief warrant officer. Mr. Fitz died in 1980. She moved with him as he served in numerous states and in Germany. The coupled settled in Glen Burnie in 1957.
She enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles and reading. She also liked watching television comedy shows.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Glen Haven Cemetery, 7231 Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty June Shipman of Glen Burnie and Patricia Ann Warner of Crofton; a brother, Elmer H. Hobbs Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
