Halle Berry's stalker stopped by Calif. judge

A Superior Court judge in Santa Monica, Calif., granted a preliminary injunction that bars Greg Broussard, of Baldwin, La., from coming within 100 yards of actress Halle Berry, her manager or publicist.

Broussard allegedly tried to contact Berry, 35, by telephone and fax.

In a written declaration to the court, she alleged that 35-year-old Broussard "has imagined a relationship with me wherein he and I are engaged to be married and that my manager and publicist are preventing him from being with me."

"I do not know Mr. Broussard and do not wish to have any contact with him," she said in court papers. "The threats he has relayed make me fear for my own safety as well as those who represent me."

Latin lovers?

Latin singer Marc Anthony refused to confirm yesterday whether he's married to singer-actress Jennifer Lopez.

During an appearance on NBC's Today show in New York, co-host Matt Lauer asked 34-year-old Anthony how he'd spent his weekend.

"I see where you're going with this, and I'm going to preface it with just saying -- y'all know I don't talk about my personal life," Anthony said. He was wearing what appeared to be a wedding band on his left hand.

Lauer replied: "So, I -- do I need to congratulate you?"

"Yeah, I have two albums coming out, man. Absolutely. And I would appreciate it," Anthony said.

Later that morning, Anthony continued to evade marriage questions from the five women on ABC's The View.

"I've always been just so private and I've kept what's mine, mine," Anthony said.

Rob Shuter, Lopez's publicist for about a year, said Tuesday that he stopped representing her Monday evening. He referred calls to Lopez's manager, Simon Fields.

Yesterday, Fields told The Associated Press, "No comment. ... We don't comment on her personal life."

This would be the third marriage for the 33-year-old Lopez -- the first was to waiter Ojani Noa in 1997, the second to Cris Judd in 2001. Noa lasted a little more than a year; Judd for nine months.

Lopez was engaged to Ben Affleck, her Gigli co-star, but they broke up in January.

Anthony divorced former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres last week. They married in 2000 and have two sons; Anthony also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Madonna's next book

Madonna's third book for children, Yakov and the Seven Thieves, will be published June 21 by New York-based Callaway Arts & Entertainment.

Written for readers age 6 and up, Madonna describes the book as "a story about how all of us have the ability to unlock the gates of heaven -- no matter how unworthy we think we are. For when we go against our selfish natures, we make miracles happen, in our lives and in the lives of others."

Five children's books are planned by the singer, each set in a different time and place. Her fourth book, The Adventures of Abdi, will be published on Nov. 8.

Bald box

Bald is a hair color in Montana. Montana's Web site lists "bald" as an option when applying online for a fishing license. "It's always been there, but before when you applied for a license at a sporting goods store, the person filling out the license just checked the appropriate box," said Rich Olsen, general manager of the state's site, Discovering Montana. You also can choose to declare your shiny pate on your driver's license. "It's a newer option, along with other hair colors, such as sandy," said Patrick McJannet, manager of field operations for the state Motor Vehicle Division in Helena. The Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks doesn't keep track of how many people admit to being follicularly challenged, said Neal Whitney, one of the agency's computer specialists.
