June 01, 2004|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

He Loves Me, the overwhelming favorite, ran to form and won the $75,000 Pearl Necklace Stakes for 3-year-old Maryland-bred fillies yesterday at Pimlico Race Course.

The race, which was originally scheduled for the turf, was run on the main track.

He Loves Me is trained at Pimlico by Richard Small, and Jozbin Santana is her regular jockey. The bay daughter of Not For Love has won three stakes this year, two of them at Pimlico, including the Caesar's Wish on April 24.

The winner ran the 1 1/16 miles in 1 minute, 44.15 seconds. Her winning margin was 1 1/2 lengths.
