Red Sox update

The Orioles took three of five games from Boston when the teams met for two series early in the season. They were rained out twice at Fenway Park, and this game is a makeup of the April 13 washout. Boston moved back into first place in the American League East yesterday with a 9-7, 12-inning victory over the Seattle Mariners. The Red Sox came back after giving up six runs in the eighth inning to fall behind 7-5. Lowe is 1-3 with a 7.30 ERA in five starts this month. He held the Orioles to two runs over six innings in a 10-3 Boston win on April 7 at Camden Yards. The Boston disabled list includes Nomar Garciaparra (strained Achilles' tendon), Trot Nixon (herniated disc), Bill Mueller (right knee inflammation) and Scott Williamson (right elbow inflammation).
