HOWARD CRIME REPORT

The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Eden Brook Drive: 7200 block, Kings Contrivance. Someone entered a home through a rear sliding window and stole a video game system and video games May 11 or 12.

Summercrest Drive: 6300 block, Owen Brown. Someone entered a home and stole cash May 18.

Treefrog Place: 5400 block, Long Reach. Jewelry was stolen from a residence between May 16 and 18.

Shaker Drive: 10400 block, Kings Contrivance. Police officers responding to a report of an alarm at Columbia Grocery found that someone had broken into the store and stole cash and cigarettes May 20.

Shaker Drive: 10400 block, Kings Contrivance. While investigating a burglary at another business, officers discovered that Columbia Pizza had been broken into May 20, though it is unknown if anything was taken.

West Columbia

Hemlock Cone Way: 4500 block, Dorsey's Search. Someone broke into a home through a rear basement window and stole jewelry May 11.

Whitegate Road: 6600 block, Clarksville. Someone broke into a home through a rear basement window and stole unspecified items between May 8 and 11.

Tolling Clock Way: 10500 block, Wilde Lake. Several assailants struck a pizza delivery employee on the head with a board, stole pizzas and fled on foot about 10 p.m. May 16.

Little Patuxent Parkway: 10200 block, Town Center. Police arrested and charged five suspects, all from Columbia, in connection with an armed robbery of four juveniles while they were skateboarding Saturday night near The Mall in Columbia. One of the thieves showed a handgun. The thieves patted down the victims and stole their shoes and cell phones. Four of the suspects were charged as juveniles.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Bethany Lane: 3100 block, Ellicott City. Someone entered a home through a rear door and stole jewelry May 18.

N. Laurel/Savage/Jessup

Mission Road: 8600 block, Jessup. Someone pried open the front door of a residence and stole video games, change and other items May 13.

Doves Fly Way: 8600 block, North Laurel. Someone entered a home and stole a wallet, credit cards and other items, between May 13 and 16. The thief also attempted to disconnect a stereo system but left it at the scene.

Stansfield Road: 10200 block, North Laurel. Someone entered a home and stole compact discs and digital video discs May 18.

Smithfield Place: 8700 block, Jessup. Someone broke a rear basement window, entered a home and stole jewelry, cash and a camera May 18.

Junction Drive: 10000 block, Annapolis Junction. Someone entered Applied Signal Technology's office and stole laptop computers between May 14 and 18.

Western Howard

Route 97: 1000 block, Sykesville. On May 17, police stopped and arrested two suspects on Route 97 in connection with burglary of a home. A resident watched two people steal several items from his garage and then called police. Police recovered the property and charged a 39-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy with burglary.
