Lightning streaked across the sky before the scheduled start of the Class 3A-2A state title game between No. 14 Towson of Baltimore County and Centennial of Howard County last night, and an ensuing downpour drenched UMBC's turf field, causing officials to postpone the game until today at 6 p.m.

Towson (15-1), coached by Ben Berquist, is seeking its ninth state title. Centennial, coached by Mike Siegert, is bidding for its fourth state crown.

Officials postponed the game at about 8:50 p.m.
