ELLA G. LANGELUTTIG, 86, died May 23, 2004, at the Tall Pines Nursing and Rehab Center in Belfast after a short illness. She was born April 4, 1918 in Unity Maine, the daughter of the late Harold and Thirza (Raines) Glines. During World War II, Ella Moved to Baltimore, Maryland to teach. In Baltimore, she met David Langeluttig whom she married in 1947. They lived in Long Green, Maryland until they moved to Maine in 1967. During her teaching career, Ella Taught in a one room schoolhouse in Unity, Freedom Academy in Freedom and Towson High School in Maryland. Ella was a member of the Unity Historical Society and the 1918 Club. She was an avid reader and seamstress. Ella loved spending time with her family. She is survived by a son, Steve Langeluttig, of Unity; daughter, Pegi Quimby and husband Peter of Thorndike; and grandchildren, Ginger and Michael Langeluttig and Kaitlin Quimby. She was predeceased by her husband David F. Langeluttig on May 25, 1975. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 2 P.M. at the Pond Cemetery in Unity. Following the service, a gathering for family and friends will be held at the Unity Historical Society. P.O. Box 4, Unity, Maine 04988.
