Fiore Winery of Pylesville gained international attention recently after it was named "One to Watch" in the April issue of the internationally distributed Decanter magazine.

"I am tickled pink," said Mike Fiore, winemaker and owner of the vineyard. "It is the most prestigious magazine in the world."

Decanter is distributed in 92 countries. Aside from the favorable outlook on the winery, Decanter also gave Fiore's Chambourcin 2001 four out of five stars, calling it "an excellent food wine."

The winery won gold medals at the 1993 Governor's Cup, the 1995 San Diego National Wine Competition and the 2003 International Eastern Wine Competition, among others.

More than 40 restaurants and liquor stores in Harford County carry Fiore wines.

"People in London are calling for my wine. This is the ultimate, something I would have never dreamed," Fiore said.
