Girl's report of rape at Annapolis High was false, police say

A 14-year-old student's report that she was sexually assaulted in a bathroom at Annapolis High School last year was false and no assault took place, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

Last month, the girl accused a 17-year-old boy at the school of attacking her last fall. "We are unable to determine if there was any sex at all that happened in the bathroom," said Lt. Joseph Jordan, a police spokesman. The girl has not been charged with making a false report, he said.

The allegation was made less than two weeks after a 15-year-old student in Howard County claimed she was raped in a Mount Hebron High School bathroom in an incident involving three male students. The boys were charged with rape, but the charges were dropped after police determined that the sex was consensual.

Pair report being robbed by 3 men in Glen Burnie

Two men told Anne Arundel County police that they were robbed late Monday as they stood in the 7800 block of Parke West Drive in Glen Burnie.

The victims were accosted by three men, one of whom had a handgun, who took two cell phones and the shoes of one of the victims, police said. Police searched the area without success.
