Historical Society's Strawberry Festival scheduled June 12

The Anne Arundel County Historical Society will hold its annual Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 12 at the Benson-Hammond House Grounds, 7101 Aviation Blvd., Linthicum.

The event will include crafts, a book sale, and a bake sale featuring strawberry shortcake, wine and preserves.

The Baltimore-Washington International Airport Fire and Rescue team will sell hot dogs and hamburgers. Airport emergency medical technicians will offer free blood-pressure screenings.

Parking is available at the public parking area off Aaronson Drive, or by following the BWI Bike Trail to the grounds.

BWI plans blood drive for American Red Cross

BWI will be host to a blood drive for the American Red Cross from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23 on the upper level of the airport's International Pier.

Appointments will be scheduled every 15 minutes.

Annual airport conference set next month in Easton

State aviation experts from the public and private sectors will gather in Easton next month for the ninth annual Airport Conference.

The conference, sponsored by the Maryland Airport Managers Association and the Maryland Aviation Administration, will focus on issues involving the operation of general aviation airports. The conference will be held June 15 to 16 at the Tidewater Inn and Conference Center in Easton.
