Mary Helen Eggers, 97, homemaker, volunteer

Mary Helen Eggers, a homemaker and volunteer, died of a circulatory ailment Wednesday at Methodist Manor House in Seaford, Del., where she had resided since 1980. The former resident of Guilford and Roland Park was 97.

Born in Baltimore and raised in Guilford, she attended private schools.

She was the daughter of Suzanna Wilcox and Andrew Jackson Dietrich, who founded Dietrich Brothers Steel Co. in 1896.

Her husband of 43 years, Henry T. Eggers, who worked for the H.B. Davis Paint Co., died in 1988.

A member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Roland Park, Mrs. Eggers was also a former member of the Roland Park Woman's Club and the Red Cross, with which she volunteered.

Services will be private.

Mrs. Eggers is survived by two nephews, Horace W. Dietrich Jr. of Del Mar, Calif., and Edward B. Dietrich Sr. of Hampstead; and seven grandnieces and grandnephews.
