May 15, 2004

Nancy E. Bailey, a retired physical therapy technician and former Hillendale resident, died of cancer Thursday at her daughter's home in Phoenix, Ariz. She was 69.

She was born Nancy Dashiell in Salisbury and moved to Ednor Gardens as a teen-ager. She was a 1952 graduate of Eastern High School and attended the University of Maryland, College Park.

Mrs. Bailey worked in private practice, and from 1988 until retiring in 1998, she was a physical therapy technician at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Since 1998, Mrs. Bailey had lived in Arizona.

She was an avid camper and especially liked camping in Maine.

"She was really devoted to her work, and that really was the most important thing to her," said her daughter, Kathleen A. Bailey.

Plans for services were incomplete yesterday.

In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Bailey is survived by a son, Keith E. Bailey of Abingdon, and two grandchildren.
