Angels update

Anaheim dropped two of three to the New York Yankees this week, and injuries have ravaged the lineup. Troy Glaus (sprained right knee, sore right shoulder), Darin Erstad (strained right hamstring), Garret Anderson (upper back stiffness), Tim Salmon (left knee irritation) and Brendan Donnelly (broken nose, elbow tendinitis) are all walking wounded, but at 23-12, the Angels are still off to their best start since 1970. When healthy, they could be the most complete team in baseball. They entered yesterday ranked first in the American League with 203 runs scored and third with a 4.34 ERA. Colon went 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA against the Orioles last season while pitching for the Chicago White Sox. Washburn has a five-game winning streak, and Escobar, the former Toronto Blue Jay, is 10-2 lifetime against the Orioles with nine saves.
