Traffic patterns to change for Preakness

The city Office of Transportation has announced street closings and temporary changes in traffic patterns to minimize congestion tomorrow near Pimlico Race Course for the Preakness Stakes.

The changes, which are set to begin at 10 p.m. today and last through 8 p.m. tomorrow, include:

Rogers Avenue will be one-way westbound from Woodcrest Avenue to Park Heights Avenue.

Winner Avenue will be one-way northbound from Hayward Avenue to Northern Parkway.

Manhattan Avenue will be one-way eastbound from Winner Avenue to Pimlico Road.

Whitney Avenue will be one-way westbound from Pimlico Road to Key Avenue.

Sulgrave Avenue will be one-way westbound from Stuart Avenue to Highgate Avenue.

Rockwood Avenue will be one-way eastbound from Key to Berkeley Avenue.

Simmonds Avenue will be one-way southbound from Rockwood to Manhattan.

Woodcrest Avenue will be one-way northbound from Northern Parkway to Rockwood.

Merville Avenue will be one-way southbound from Glen Avenue to Northern Parkway.

Berkeley will be one-way northbound from Whitney to Glen.

Stuart will be one-way northbound from Northern Parkway to Sulgrave.

Rusk Avenue will be one-way southbound from Whitney to Northern Parkway.

From 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Hayward Avenue will be one-way eastbound from Park Heights to Winner avenues.

From 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Pimlico Road will be one-way northbound from Northern Parkway to Cross Country Boulevard, and Winner will be one-way northbound from Rogers Avenue to Northern Parkway.

Also, Cylburn Avenue from Northern Parkway to Greenspring Avenue, and the southbound Jones Falls Expressway exit ramp to eastbound Northern Parkway (motorists will be redirected to the Cold Spring Lane exits) will be closed from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.

From 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, westbound Northern Parkway from Falls Road to the racecourse, and the southbound Jones Falls Expressway exit ramp to westbound Northern Parkway (motorists will be redirected to the Cold Spring Lane exits) will be closed.
