Akron 4, Bowie 1: Jeremy Guthrie pitched five scoreless innings and Franklin Gutierrez knocked in runs with a single and sacrifice fly as the host Aeros (17-14), took over second place in the South Division from the Baysox (17-15).

Myrtle Beach 5, Frederick 4: Jonathan Schuerholz drove home Isaac Iorg with the game-winning run in the eighth for the host Pelicans (18-15), who have won two straight against the Keys (6-26).

Single-A South Atlantic League

Delmarva 12, Charleston (S.C.) 3: Juan Gutierrez hit a three-run triple in the first inning to send the host Shorebirds (16-17) on their way to victory over the Southern Division-leading River Dogs (20-12).

Hagerstown 4, Rome 3: Nate Schierholtz's home run in the bottom of the 10th inning lifted the host Suns (13-20) over the Braves (15-17).
