Senior midfielder Allie Johnson scored six goals to lead No. 8 and defending Class 4A-3A state champion Broadneck to a 13-6 win over No. 4 South River at Arundel High yesterday for its first Anne Arundel County championship after reaching the title game the past two seasons.

The Seahawks, who got two goals each from Jen May and Frannie Sullivan, had a 3-2 lead before the Bruins got three straight goals from Rachel Bruce and then one from Johnson for a 6-3 lead at the break.

The Bruins pulled away in the second half, as Johnson scored four consecutive goals at one point.

Last week, the Seahawks dominated the last 25 minutes in a 17-11 win over the Bruins that was tied at 9 at the half.

The two teams stand a good chance of meeting again in the region playhoffs.
