Fischer, Thelma Cathcart

On Monday, May 10, 2004, Mrs. THELMA CATHCART FISCHER, 82, a native of Baltimore, MD, former resident of Murrell's Inlet, SC, and Poquoson resident the past two years, died at home with family by her side. In Catonsville, MD, she was a member of the Women's Club of Catonsville, the Maryland Club, and the Volunteer Literacy Tutors. In South Carolina, she was a member of the Woodlake Village Garden Club in Garden City (Treasurer 1998-2002), the Bridge Club of Murrell's Inlet, the Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, Murrell's Inlet, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She became involved in every community that she lived in and touched many lives. Mrs. Fischer was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Nelson Cathcart. She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Louis Fischer; a daughter, Susan E. Fischer of Middle River, Maryland; two grandchildren, Cynthia E. Persons, and Ronald A. Dasher of Poquoson; and three grandchildren, Amanda C. Persons, Christopher L. Persons and Shane A. Dasher. A Memorial Service will be held at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, Murrell's Inlet, P.O. Box 1750, South Carolina 29576-1750. Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, is assisting with arrangements.
