Catholic scored four runs in the sixth and held Lutheran scoreless for the final three innings to win the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference softball championship, 16-10, yesterday at Towson University.

Catcher Lisa Williams and second baseman Chrissy Bloomfield drove in three runs apiece for Catholic. Williams' two-run double was the key hit during the Cubs' four-run sixth, when they took the lead for good.

Friends 7, Towson Catholic 5: First baseman Hannah Lupien hit a three-run single with two outs in the fifth inning at Towson University to help the top-seeded Quakers win the IAAM C Conference championship.

Friends pitcher Jackie Murk gave up five hits and three earned runs and struck out 11 in seven innings to record the victory.

Towson Catholic, the tournament's second seed, scored twice in the second inning and three times in the third and held a 5-4 lead before Lupien's hit.
