High Schools

The project that has sought private money to pay for lighting 11 public high school stadium fields will celebrate the major donors who are making it possible by having a Turn On The Lights Night tonight at Howard High, currently the county's only school with lights.

The celebration will begin at 5:30 with a boys lacrosse game between two-time defending county champion Centennial and Howard.

Following that game, there will be music and entertainment and then a ceremony honoring the major donors.

A finance committee headed by Doug Hostetler has sought to raise $850,000 and is close to that goal.

The night will conclude with a girls lacrosse game between River Hill and Glenelg at 7:45.
