Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Western District

Victim named: Police identified yesterday Rodney Lamont Smith, 34, of the 1400 block of Presstman St. as the man fatally shot Sunday night near his home. No arrest had been made. Anyone with information should call Detective Melissa Anderson at 410-396-2100.

Northeastern District

Arrest: Brian Covell Jr., 16, whose address was not available, was arrested about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Argonne Drive by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a charge of attempted murder. Covell is charged as an adult with shooting Artemus Eddington, 24, in the 4400 block of Kelway Road 18 hours earlier.

Shooting: Police continued to seek the gunman who shot Mister Wayne Deminds, 19, of the 5500 block of Force Road in the back about 6 a.m. Saturday as the victim walked in the 4500 block of Bowleys Lane. Deminds fled to a fire scene in the 5600 block of Moravia Road, where he told police he had been shot. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Eastern District

Arrest: Reginald Burgess, 17, was arrested April 30 outside his home in the 1500 block of N. Broadway by Warrant Apprehension Task Force members. He is charged as an adult with attempted murder in the shooting of two teen-age boys April 18 near his home.

Theft: A man entered a relative's house in the 3000 block of E. Federal St. during the weekend and stole three handguns, jewelry and a DVD player.

Carjacking: Elridge Green, 58, was driving a black 2003 Chevrolet Malibu in the 2400 block of Loch Raven Road about 6 a.m. Sunday when two men, one with a shotgun, ordered him to stop. After forcing Green out, the men took the car, with tags LVB 713.

Northern District

Shooting: Police responding to a shooting about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of E. 25th St. found Keyontay Harper, 19, of the 700 block of W. Lexington St. lying in a hallway of a building bleeding from a wound to the right leg. Harper was treated at Union Memorial Hospital.

Northwestern District

Robbery/arrest: Shortly after a man, 32, was robbed of $83 and a cell phone by a gunman on a bicycle in the 3300 block of Woodland Ave. about 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Officer Shawn Fuksa spotted a man riding a bicycle two blocks away who fit the description and arrested him. Recovered from the man was the victim's property. Charged with armed robbery was Dameon Dubose, 20, of the 3500 block of W. Garrison Ave.

Southern District

Burglary: Between April 25 and Sunday, someone used a ladder to enter a second-floor room of a house in the first block of E. Gittings St. and stole jewelry valued at $10,500.

Baltimore County

Franklin Precinct

Robbery: An 82-year-old man was carrying groceries to his car outside a market in the 8200 block of Liberty Road about 4 p.m. Sunday when another man offered to help. At the car, the volunteer assaulted the elderly man, robbed him of $40 and fled. The victim was unhurt.

Essex Precinct

Burglary: A lawn mower and power washer were stolen during the weekend from a shed in the 500 block of Nollmeyer Road. They were valued at $600.
