Baltimore police were investigating three weekend slayings, including a death that resulted from one of four shootings last night in separate areas of the city.

Names of all but one of the victims - the latest of them a man found dead with bullet wounds to the head and face in the 1400 block of Presstman St. about 10 p.m. - were not released.

Other shootings last night were reported at 9:25 p.m. in the 2600 block of Harford Road, where a man was wounded in the chest; shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Ashton St., where a woman was shot in the head; and 11:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of Loch Raven Road, where a man was wounded in the hand.

Early in the day, a man was fatally shot and two others were wounded at a party in the Parkside neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore, police said.

Neighbors reported multiple gunshots and screams coming from a house in the 4300 block of Shamrock Ave. about 3:20 a.m., police said. When police arrived, one man was dead and a man and woman were injured with gunshot wounds to the legs, said Officer Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman.

Cory Gallention, 25, of no fixed address, was shot several times in the body, legs and head about 1:25 a.m. Saturday in the 1600 block of N. Durham St. and died later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Police discovered about 30 shell casings around the scene of that shooting. Police knew of no motive and had no suspects in the slaying. Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Detective Robert Patton, 410-396-2100.
