Eveland recognized as Business Woman of the Year in region

Janet L. Eveland has been named Business Woman of the Year by the Baltimore regional chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners.

She is the organization's treasurer and past president.

Eveland has practiced business and commercial law in Maryland, Virginia and Washington since 1983.

Marriner Marketing names Gajadhar to new position

Saudia Gajadhar has been named director of account management and strategic planning at Columbia-based Marriner Marketing Communications.

Gajadhar joined the company as an account supervisor in 1998, and was most recently the director of strategic planning and research.

She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in marketing communications from Northwestern University.

Marriner Marketing Communications provides integrated marketing services to the food and hospitality industries.

Barnow to handle publicity for hospice

Barbara Barnow, principal of Strategies Unlimited, will direct publicity for Hospice of Howard County's annual fund-raising event and provide publicity for the nonprofit organization throughout the year.

After serving as publicity chairwoman for last year's Taste and Auction of Howard County, Barnow will work to create a better understanding of local hospice services.

Strategies Unlimited, Barnow's Columbia-based firm, specializes in marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations. Barnow has promoted fund-raisers for the Domestic Violence Center and the Howard County Sesquicentennial Celebration.
