Paul Hatherne Adler, 90, Sears service manager

Paul Hatherne Adler, a retired Sears service manager, died of pneumonia Tuesday at Chapel Hill Nursing Home in Randallstown. The Reisterstown resident was 90.

He was born in Providence, R.I., where he attended school, and served in the Army during World War II in Europe.

Mr. Adler worked as an electronics service manager for 26 years for Sears at its parts warehouse on 41st Street in Hampden. He retired in 1983. He had earlier worked for the old Muntz Television Corp. in Baltimore.

He enjoyed traveling to New England and the West.

His wife of 42 years, the former Ellen R. Merkle, died in 1995.

Services were held yesterday at Granite Presbyterian Church in Woodstock, where he was a member.

He is survived by two nephews and four nieces; and 13 great-nephews and great-nieces.
