Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk announced Saturday that Tom Marryott has been hired as the head women's basketball coach at the Naval Academy.

Marryott served as the interim head coach this past season and led the Midshipmen to a 13-17 record.

Though last year was his first season with the women's program, Marryott is no stranger to Naval Academy basketball, having served as an assistant coach with the men's program from 1998-03.

Marryott is the son of Rear Adm. Ron Marryott (Ret.), a 1957 Naval Academy graduate who was the Superintendent of the Naval Academy from 1986-88.
