Glenelg won its seventh straight yesterday, beating visiting Howard County league rival Mount Hebron, 13-4.

Joe Derwent and Shea Conway each contributed three goals and two assists, Matt Nicola had three goals and one assist, and both John Regan (two goals) and Greg Foley (two assists) contributed to a win that gave Glenelg (7-1 overall, 7-0 league) the inside track toward the county title with three league games remaining.

A four-game winning streak ended for Mount Hebron (5-6, 4-2), whose top scorer was Colin Kendal (two goals, one assist). Greg Savage (10 saves) limited Glenelg to four second-half goals, but nothing could stop it.

En route to building its 9-2 halftime advantage, Glenelg scored seven goals on 10 shots. That ratio included a 5-1 lead built on six shots with 6:50 left in the first quarter.

Glenelg won nine of 12 first-half draws, with Tim Mullinix (one goal, one assist) taking eight of 10 by himself in that time, and keying a 14-6 advantage for the game. His game-high nine ground balls tied Scott Dunsmore. Derwent had seven ground balls.
