Anne Arundel County police are investigating allegations by a 14-year-old Annapolis High School student that she was sexually assaulted in a bathroom at the school in the fall.
The girl contacted police Wednesday. No criminal charges have been filed. School officials sent a letter home with Annapolis High School students yesterday to inform parents that school authorities are also investigating the allegations.
The girl and the accused 17-year-old male student - neither of whom has been identified - have been removed from the school. They are receiving educational services at home, as is customary during such investigations, school officials said.
The allegations come less than two weeks after a 15-year-old student at Mount Hebron High in Howard County said she was raped in a school bathroom in an incident involving three male students.
Prosecutors filed charges but dropped them when they said the girl recanted.
