Purdy perfect for Hammond

Nick Purdy of Hammond pitched a perfect game against host Atholton yesterday, striking out seven in a 10-0 victory.

Purdy (4-0, 2.56 ERA), a senior left-hander, went to a three-ball count on only two hitters.

Purdy also went 2-for-4 with a double. Plus, he stole his 18th base this season for the Bears (7-6 overall, 6-5 Howard County).
