NOW OR NEVER

Don't miss all the wackiness of the sixth annual East Coast Championship Kinetic Sculpture Race Saturday.

Competitors will race 15 miles over land, water and mud with vehicles, such as the one at left, made from bicycles, spare parts and even garbage. A two-headed dragon and a 15-foot pink poodle are already included.

Top prizes are the Mediocre Award, for finishing in the middle, and the Next-to-the-Last Award. The winner of the Mediocre Award will be eligible to compete in the World Championship in Ferndale, Calif.

The race, organized by the American Visionary Art Museum, will begin with a brake check at 8 a.m., and the opening ceremony will be at 9:45 a.m. Most contestants will return around 5 p.m.

The race will begin at AVAM, 800 Key Highway in Baltimore. Call 410-244-1900 or visit www. kineticbaltimore.com.
