2004 Homebuilding Awards of Excellence

The Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland announced the group's 2004 awards of excellence during a ceremony held Thursday at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore.

The awards recognize local homebuilders in a variety of categories. A team of judges chose the winners, which include:

Single-family detached large-volume builder in the $325,000-$399,999 category: Barry Andrews Homes for Clarksburg II at Scott Gardens in Perryville.

Single-family detached small-volume builder, $250,000-$324,999: Artery Homes; Hamilton at Mulberry Station in Easton. A silver merit award went to Architecture Collaborative Prestwick for Wexford at Village II in Waldorf.

Single-family detached large-volume builder, $400,000-$474,999: Barry Andrews Homes for Wesley Roberts at Susquehanna Hills in Port Deposit. A silver merit award went to Ryland Homes for Westhighland II at The Enclave at Patriot's Glen in Elkton.

Single-family detached large-volume builder, $475,000-$599,999: Catonsville Homes for Lexington at Woodlands at Nottingham in Mount Airy. A silver merit award went to Williamsburg Group for Dorchester II at Emerson in Laurel.

Single-family detached small-volume builder, $475,000-$599,999: Dorsey Family Homes for Chamberlain II at Worthington Fields in Ellicott City.

Single-family detached large-volume builder, $600,000-$749,999: Catonsville Homes for Chapel Hill at Avonshire Woods in Eldersburg. A silver merit award went to Caruso Homes for Kingsport at River Gate Estates in Clinton.

Single-family detached small-volume builder, $600,000-$749,999: Artery Homes for Washington at The Vistas at Springdale Washington in Middletown.

Single-family detached large-volume builder, $750,000 and over: NV Homes for Clifton Park at Maple Ridge in Woodbine.

Townhome large-volume builder, $250,000-$324,999: Patriot Homes for Lexington 22 at Willow Brook in Frederick.

Townhome large-volume builder, $325,000-$449,999: NV Homes for Severn at Meadows at Bulle Rock in Havre De Grace.

Townhome large-volume builder, $450,000 and over: Ryan Homes for Fenwick at Sunset Island in Ocean City.

Active adult, $299,999 and under: Pulte Homes for Wittman at Chesapeake by Del Webb in Easton.

Active adult, $300,000-$499,999: Pulte Homes for McDaniel Chesapeake by Del Webb in Easton.

Active adult, $500,000 and over: Grayson Homes for Banneker at Hidden Bluff in Catonsville.

Customized large-volume builder, $400,000-$599,999: Williamsburg Group for James Randolph at River Hill Overlook in Columbia.

Customized large-volume builder, $600,000 and over: Pulte Homes for Endicott at Belmont Farm in Reisterstown.

Customized small-volume builder, $600,000 and over: Baldwin Homes for Charles Ridgley at Governor's Manor in Davidsonville.

Customized large-volume builder, $499,999 and under: A silver merit award went to Williamsburg Group for a private residence at Brookeville Crossing in Brookeville.

Customized small-volume builder, $499,999 and under: Hamilton Reed for Waverly at Waverly Woods in Woodstock.

Customized large-volume builder, $500,000-$749,999: Williamsburg Group for a private residence at Union Chapel in Woodbine.

Customized small-volume builder, $500,000-$749,999: Mueller Homes for the Pine Brook Farm House at Pine Brook Farm in Sykesville.

Customized large-volume builder, $750,000 and over: Golden Builders for the Barbera Residence in Ashton.

Customized small-volume builder, $750,000 and over: Stevens Homes for the Morton Residence at Thaler Estates in Clarksville.

Customized small-volume builder, $1.5 million and under: Rauser Professional Contracting for a private residence in Monkton.

Customized small-volume builder, $1.5 million and over: J Paul Builders Glass for Forms at Bridleridge in Lutherville.

Customized small-volume builder, $2.5 million and over: J Paul Builders for Stone Lodge at Caves Valley Golf Course in Owings Mills.

Multifamily, $225,000 and over: Bozzuto Homes for Calvert at The Villas at River Hill in Clarksville.

Single-family detached, $325,000-$399,999: Interior Concepts for Hamilton at Mulberry Station in Easton. Silver merit awards went to Builders' Design & Leasing for Brittingham at Wexford in Aberdeen.

Single-family detached, $400,000-$474,999: Interior Concepts for Hamilton at Maple Valley Estates in Hagerstown; builder: Artery Homes.

Single-family detached, $475,000-$599,999: Builders' Design & Leasing for Conor Patrick at Fallston Crossing in Fallston; builder: Barry Andrews Homes.

Single-family detached, $600,000-$749,999: Karen Renee Interiors for Plymouth at Fourwinds in Severn; builder: Koch Homes; Interior Concepts Worthington at The Vistas at Springdale in Middletown; builder: Artery Homes.

Single-family detached, $750,000 and over: Model Home Interiors for Randall at Goshen Ridge in Laytonsville; builder: Winchester Homes; a silver merit award went to Columbia Builders for Larchmont at Buckskin Ridge in Ellicott City.

Townhome, $450,000 and over: Merchandising East for Banneker at Hidden Bluff in Catonsville; builder: Grayson Homes.

Multifamily, $225,000 and over: A silver merit award went to Merchandising East for Calvert at The Villas at River Hill in Clarksville; builder: Bozzuto Homes.

Grand award for best community presentation: Bozzuto Homes & Chateau Builders for The Enclave at Ellicott Hills.

Sales manager of the year: Charles Lewis of Patriot Homes

Marketing director of the year: Sara Erhartic of Masonry Homes.

Salesperson of the year, multifamily homes: Shawn Fortney of Ryan Homes.

Salesperson of the year, multiple products: Dale C. Adams, Jr. of Builder's Advantage.

Overall sales excellence winner: Margie Ogden of Pulte Homes.
