Police seek teen who tried to abduct two girls

Police are seeking a teen-ager who tried to abduct two girls in separate incidents yesterday evening in North Baltimore.

About 6:45 p.m., an 8-year-old Waldorf School pupil was playing dodge ball with other children at the school in the 4700 block of Yellow Wood Ave. when she ran into a wooded area to retrieve the ball.

When she failed to return after a few minutes, a teacher entered the woods and saw the girl being held by the youth, described as 15 to 18 years old. He ran away, and a call to police by the teacher resulted in a search of the area by officers.

Several minutes later, police said, the same person tried to abduct a 12-year-old girl walking in the 4800 block of W. Cold Spring Lane, which is nearby. The girl fought him off and he fled, police said.

Anyone with information about the incidents was urged to call the Northern District police station at 410-396-2455.
