Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Baltimore City

Southern District

Deputy injured: Two city sheriff's deputies were seeking a man wanted in an arrest warrant about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday when one of them, James Goines, was knocked down by a motorized bike in the 2600 block of Ridgely St. in a hit-and-run. A short time later, police arrested the alleged rider, Jerome McGrey, 20, of the 2500 block of S. Paca St., and charged him with assault. Goines, a veteran member of the sheriff's department, suffered fractures of one leg and was reported in good condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

Drug arrests: Sgt. Allen Adkins and Officer Paul Choi were in an unmarked car in the 500 block of N. Denison St. about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday when they noticed two men in a stopped Geo Metro suddenly duck. Suspecting the car was stolen, the officers were approaching the vehicle when one of the occupants threw a plastic bag out of a window. Found in the car were 32 vials of cocaine, 23 gel caps of heroin and $69. The bag, which contained marijuana, also was seized. Total value of the contraband was $555. Charged with possession of the drugs with intent to distribute were Anthony Baxter, 18, of the 500 block of N. Denison and Terrell Perry, 20, of the 1200 block of Whatcoat St.

Theft from vehicle: Compact discs valued at $80 and a car manual were stolen Wednesday from a 2002 Subaru station wagon parked in the first block of E. Gittings St.

Southeastern District

Robbery try: A man, 27, was riding a bicycle in the 100 block of S. Linwood Ave. near Patterson Park about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and was approaching several younger males on bikes when one of them struck him, causing him to fall. When one of the youths tried to steal the man's bike, he fought them off and rode away.

Stolen vehicle: A blue 1988 Ford pickup truck with tags 25F 915 was stolen Wednesday in the 900 block of S. Potomac St.

Arrests: Police responding to shots fired near the ice rink at Patterson Park about 9 p.m. Wednesday night chased and caught four youths, with the help of a police helicopter, and seized a handgun from one of them. No one was reported shot.

Baltimore County

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Someone broke into an apartment in the 8400 block of Greenway through a door Wednesday and stole a DVD player and 20 DVD movies, all valued at $350.

Franklin Precinct

Burglary: Several hedge trimmers, a lawn mower and a leaf blower were stolen early Wednesday from a shed at Bais Yaakov School for Girls in the 11100 block of Park Heights Ave.

Burglary: At least five computers were stolen from Franklin Group in the 8300 block of Liberty Road on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning by someone who entered through a rear door.
