LANSDOWNE — In Baltimore County

4 firefighters, resident hurt in Lansdowne blaze

LANSDOWNE - A blaze yesterday afternoon in Lansdowne sent one man to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and left four firefighters injured, Baltimore County fire officials said.

The fire appears to have started about 1:45 p.m. in the basement of a cottage-style home in the 3200 block of Rosalie Road, said Elise Armacost, Fire Department spokeswoman. Firefighters rescued a man from the basement, but his identity had not been released. Armacost said she did not know the man's condition.

One firefighter dislocated his shoulder and was taken to St. Agnes HealthCare, she said, as was another firefighter suffering from apparent heat exhaustion. Both were in good condition yesterday evening, Armacost said. Two other firefighters were treated at the scene of the fire for heat exhaustion, she said. The cause of the fire was not known.
