April 22, 2004|By Sarah Schaffer

Hometown: Baltimore

Current Members: David Hardy, guitar and vocals; Cris Cowan, lead vocals and guitar; Yuri Zietz, keyboards; John Jorde, bass; and Charles Cole, drums.

Founded in: 2002

Style: electro / indie-rock

Influenced by: Joy Division, Bauhaus, Echo & the Bunnymen and the Psychedelic Furs, to name a few.

Notable: Though relatively new on the scene, this hard-working act has already toured the country and recorded a full-length CD. (Translations was released March 12 on Baltimore's Speedbump Recordings.) Plans include studio work and more out-of-town shows.

Quotable: Hardy on what members do for the good of the band: "We practice like three times a week, which is pretty rigorous, I guess. We've all put our careers on hold to do this. We've kind of forced our lifestyles to adapt to [the band].
