Judith E. Tucker, director of academic programs in Arab studies at Georgetown University, will speak on "Finding the Feminist Voice: Islamic Law and the Feminine in Theory and Practice" at 8 p.m. Wednesday in McDaniel Lounge.
An expert in Arab studies, she will give the Ridington Lecture, discussing how Islamic law defines women.
Tucker is professor of history and director of the master of arts in Arab studies program at the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies in Georgetown's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.
