Lauren O'Malley

Mount de Sales, softball

The sophomore pitcher/designated hitter enjoyed a banner week at the plate and was effective on the mound to help the Sailors get back to .500 with a 4-4 mark.

In the team's 3-2 week, O'Malley went 12-for-19 to raise her batting average to .631. She hit three triples, two doubles, two homers with nine RBIs and 10 runs. She went 2-1 with wins over Mercy and Urbana.

Some of her finest work came in Archbishop Spalding's Cavalier Classic on Saturday, which featured seven ranked teams.

In the Sailors' 11-4 win over Urbana from Frederick County, O'Malley went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple while getting the win. In a 4-2 loss to top-ranked Severna Park, she went 2-for-3 with a deep homer to right.
