Howard Crime Report

The crime report is a sampling of crimes in Howard County compiled from police. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-313-3700.

East Columbia

Cradlerock Way: 7200 block, Owen Brown. A man entered a Mobil gas station, displayed a handgun and ordered the clerk to open the cash drawer about 7 p.m. March 19. The clerk handed over an unspecified amount of money, and the thief fled the store.

Connell Court: 9200 block, Guilford area. Armed with guns, three intruders entered a home March 25 and stole cash and other items. One of the three occupants was assaulted. The assailants stole cash and other items. Police did not release further information.

Flapjack Lane: 6700 block, Kings Contrivance. Someone broke out a rear window to enter a home and stole cash, a video game system and cameras March 25.

West Columbia

Hickory Ridge Road: 10200 block, Hickory Ridge. A woman told police that a man with whom she went on a date attempted to sexually assault her at her apartment about 3:30 a.m. March 21. Earlier in the evening, the man had taken a key off her key ring. She took the key back from him before leaving her apartment to call police. Police say they found and arrested a suspect.

Bucksaw Court: 5400 block, Harper's Choice. A homeowner chased a theft suspect from his home after his car's alarm sounded about 7 p.m. March 29. The man, who was standing in the driveway, ran from the home to a vehicle parked on a nearby street as the homeowner chased him. The suspect left the area in a red van.

Ellicott City/Elkridge

Brittany Circle: 4200 block, Ellicott City. Someone entered an attached garage and stole power tools and golf clubs March 21 or 22.

Westhill Road: 4600 block, Ellicott City. Someone entered a detached garage and stole a bicycle, power tools and alcohol March 23 or 24.

Deerpath Road: 6800 block, Elkridge. A rear glass door was smashed, and camcorders were stolen from a business March 26.

N. Laurel/Savage/Jessup

Moonshine Hollow: 9100 block, North Laurel. A man forced his way into a home, assaulted a woman and stole a set of keys about 1 p.m. March 24

Western Howard

Lime Kiln Road and Route 216: Fulton. A truck driver was making a fuel delivery March 30, when two men approached him, demanded money and implied they had a gun. The driver resisted the men, who assaulted him and then fled in a light-colored vehicle.
