Homework policy termed appalling

I am appalled over the homework policy of Howard County Public Schools. They are turning our children into camels! The weight of the books they are forced to bring home daily is taking its toll on their spines. The children are becoming "hump-backed."

We send our children to school to be taught, not to be home schooled by their parents. Keep the books at school, and send worksheets home.

In my day, school doors were open five days a week, except on a major holiday. The teachers were there, they did their job and could all stand tall!
