ALTON P. SCOTT, JR., age 69, of Milton, DE, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE. Mr. Scott was born in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Alton P. Scott, Sr. and Catherine Blackwell Thornton. He graduated from Frederick P. Douglass H.S. in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. Returning to Baltimore, he worked for the Social Security Administration, specializing in computer technology for over 30 years. During that time he participated in the Sanctuary Choir at Union Baptist Church and the Joseph Eubanks Chorale. He played in various sports leagues throughout the years. In 1991, he retired and relocated his family to Milton, DE. He became very active in his community and volunteered his time as coach, mentor, and booster for various school programs. In recent years, he found his niche volunteering at the New Life Thrift Shop. He is survived by his wife Adrienne, his children, Alton III, Craig, Adam, and Domineque, seven grandchildren, his brother, James, his uncle, Alan, and numerous cousins. Memorial Services will be Saturday, April 3, 2004, at 2 P.M. at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 1449 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call one hour prior to Services. Burial will be private.
