WINE OF THE WEEK

March 31, 2004|By Michael Dresser

2002 Argyle Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley ($18). This medium-bodied Oregon wine from the highly regarded 2002 vintage offers great intensity, smoothness and black-cherry, black-raspberry and chocolate flavors. More than most Oregon pinot noirs, it truly recalls the character of a fine red Burgundy. It's not inexpensive but this is not a bad price for pinot noir of this quality.
