Del. James criticized for opposing slots

Delegate [Mary-Dulany] James is running for governor of Delaware. She has to be. First, she wants to send all our slots money over the state line to Delaware and have Maryland lose out on the income there, and now she wants to send people to Delaware to buy ... goods.

She recently voted in favor of an increase in the sales tax, even though we already have a problem of people going to tax-free Delaware to shop as it is. Now when there is an additional 20 percent increase in the sales tax, people are going to go to Delaware even more.

The next time you need to buy a washer or dryer, you could save money by just taking a short trip up I-95.

Well, Delaware, we are exporting our money through slots to build your roads and pay for schools that we so greatly need. We are exporting our money through our shoppers to pay for police protection and excellent fire protection. We are going to export one more thing to you: Mary-Dulany James for governor of Delaware. Congratulations, she's done you proud.
